A Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with consulting rooms in West Hampstead, I have 15 years of experience working as a Health Care Professional in the NHS. Alongside my present NHS based work in a Child and Family CAMHS clinic, my private practice continues to be regularly updated and guided by current thinking and techniques. I have a doctoral level training in the emotional development of adolescence and of childhood, and in psychoanalytic techniques.
Privately I specialise in working with adolescents, young adults and parents. Transitioning from adolescence into adulthood is one of the most difficult developmental achievements. Due to years of working with young people across a number of settings, my interests and expertise are in working with teenagers and young adults who may be struggling with anxieties connected to identity, sexuality, gender and to how they feel about themselves in relation to their peers and to family members (including parents). I offer brief and long-term psychotherapy, parent/carer's consultations, complex assessments, liaison meetings with schools and young person-specific advisory sessions to teaching staff.
My professional background has involved working and supervising on hospital based (in-patient) adolescent units, in community (out-patient) clinics, as well as consulting to education settings both in mainstream primary and secondary schools.
Please do contact me for an initial phone consultation to see if I can be of some support at this time.
