'Anti-depressants made things worse': BBC reports 30 per cent medication use increase among young people

Watch the latest report from the BBC about a young man, George, 20, who was put on anti-depressants by his GP when he was 15 after a five minute consultation - an experience which has left him terrified to this day of medication.

He tells the BBC in this short video clip that he was not offered any other form of treatment and how taking the anti-depressants made his situation worse leaving him on some days feeling suicidal.

The report comes amid revelations by the BBC that there has been a 30 per cent increase in the number of young people prescribed anti-depressants over a 10-year period.

Swansea University analysed data from nearly 360,000 children aged between six and 18 from 2003 to 2013.
