CAPT Non-Executive Board Director Opportunities
Are you passionate about shaping the future of Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and promoting the profession? The ACP is entering an exciting new chapter and looking for members who wish to develop their leadership experience and expertise. Following a recent organisational review, we have strengthened our organisational design and strategic direction to ensure the ACP is equipped to lead the profession confidently and effectively in the years ahead.
As part of this next phase, we are inviting 4 members to join our Board as Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist Non-Executive Board Directors (CAPT NEDs) in two phases:
- Three ACP members to be appointed from 1st September 2026 and join their first Board meeting from October 2026.
- One ACP member to be appointed from 1st December 2026 and join their first Board meeting from January 2027.
These roles offer an excellent opportunity for practising clinicians - at any stage of their career - to contribute to national leadership, influence strategy, and bring diverse perspectives to the heart of ACP governance.

- Senior members who wish to contribute their expertise in a strategic capacity.
Time Commitment
- Four Board meetings per year, held on Fridays from 3.00–5.30pm (April, July, October, January) including reading and preparation.
- AGM meeting – 2 hours per year.
- Some additional work between meetings (kept limited and manageable).
- Expected time commitment - 30 hours per year.
Regular attendance is essential to fulfilling the responsibilities of the role. Reasonable expenses reimbursed in line with ACP policy.
